In honor of my 40th High School Reunion . . .

In High School I ran Warren Zevon for Student body president. Here are a pair of Glasses made as a promotional device.

Sorry about my original post, I guess I accidentally shaved 10 years off my life because I am bad at math . . .

When your house is on fire . . . .

When your house is on fire . . . . and your house is your hat. Well now you can see that bad days can always get worse. This is from "Vote with your Throat", Randolph Street Gallery, Chicago, 1988.

On the streets of New York

Rogue brussels sprout, the one that got away. Life started out in the fields and ended up in the gutter. Life can be harsh.

Speaking of Song of the day . . .

I send around a song everyday to my co-workers with a brief tidbit of writing to amuse the grinding masses.

I have also made playlists of these songs on Spotify, and if you have an account I think you can follow the links below to have a listen.

WZ, Song of the day

Song of the day:

“Desperados Under the Eaves”, 1975, Warren Zevon. In my youth I used to hang out at the record store reading the records like books in a library. One day I stumbled upon Warren Zevons first record. The back of the record catalogued all the songs and who played on them. It read like a who’s who of who I was listening to at the time. I was heavily into Southern California FM rock at the time. A few of the players included Jackson Browne, Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks, Glenn Frey and Don Henley, Bonnie Raitt. I had never heard of Zevon and they didnt play him on any of the radio stations I listened to. I saved my pennies and went back a few weeks later and bought this record. I have been a mega-fan ever since. I ran him unsuccessfully for Student body President of my high school. Here is another Artist with a few hundred great songs. I have chosen this one as enduring.  “And if California slides into the ocean , Like the mystics and statistics say it will , I predict this motel will be standing , Until I pay my bill”.

On Death and Chips & Dip

I'm loitering in Anthropology the other day and I see this book to rifle though. 'On Death' precedes 'Chips and Dip'. I just can't image a world where you would have things placed in this order. Chips and Dip in the afterlife? I think not. Well in my universe Chips and Dip are most likely the cause of said death . . . .

I am pretty sure this is art, but I could be wrong

I'm often running thru the archives, some of which contain dual life objects which function as both performance art props and as utilitarian objects in my life. This extension cord has been in hundreds of my performances. The end of it is a bit messed up and, well, I could fix it. But I'm not sure it isn't a valuable art object as it is. And to fix it would be to destroy it. My family thinks I am sliding deep into hoarding behavior. Any thoughts?

Because barbecue

It is summer and summer requires Barbecue and this year requires the overhaul of the Weber Kettle 22-in charcoal grill.

Added a new closure for the bottom and added a wooden handle to the top vent and a temperature gauge.

Because New York

Ramones and New York go together like ice and cream. A cool day on the dark side of the street leads to 2nd St. and second street leads to the palace that punk created. Country, Blue grass and blues, never the same . . .
